Our programme is unique and based on the syllabus ‘Theatre English’ (recognized by the Moscow Committee of Education). The syllabus covers 3 years of studying of the following subjects:

  • Drama in English: basic acting skills, theatre terminology, stage speech and movement development
  • Voice Coaching: freeing natural voice, breathing and articulation skills
  • Vocal Class (one-to-one teaching)

  • Ensemble Singing

  • American Tap-Dance

  • Jazz Modern Dance

All the subjects are taught by specialists with higher education and considerable experience in the fields of the theatre and education (See Teachers). Singing and dancing classes are held in Russian with extensive use of English terminology.

Besides the essential subjects the syllabus also comprises:

  • master-classes and workshops with prominent Russian and foreign actors, directors, singers and producers
  • monthly rehearsals of current and new productions

  • participation in various shows with musical and dance numbers

  • regular performances in English on the professional stage

  • participation in Russian and international theatre festivals.

According to the syllabus each academic year has its objectives, number of subjects and testing material that students are to demonstrate at the end of the year (see Table):

The candidates that will have passed the audition will be assigned to the relevant group depending on their skills, abilities and level of English (see Rules and Regulations). Native speakers are welcome to join the 1st and 2nd year students either for Drama in English (free) or for singing and dancing classes (fee to be paid).

At the end of each academic year students who have demonstrated the required level of achievement and commitment are awarded a special Certificate.
